Forest Management Leader at Stenvalls Trä AB

Do you want to work close to the forest, take responsibility for forest management issues in practice, and at the same time be involved in developing methods and structures for the future?

Stenvalls Trä AB is now looking for a Forest Management Leader for the raw material organization.

About Stenvalls Trä AB

Stenvalls Trä AB is a genuine family business that started as a carpentry shop in Sikfors in 1947. Today, we operate a modern industrial group that works from the forest to finished wood products, with operations in Sikfors, Luleå/Bergnäset, Örarna, Seskarö, and Piteå/Lövholmen. We produce climate-smart wood products for both the Swedish market and export – with about 70% of the volume going internationally. Stenvalls Trä AB employs 275 people and has a turnover of approximately 1.7 billion SEK.

The group also includes companies such as Kallax Flyg, Stenvalls Skogar, XL-Bygg Stenvalls, Genesis IT, and several real estate companies.

Our culture is characterized by an entrepreneurial spirit, long-term thinking, and responsibility. We believe in humility, decisiveness, and close dialogue between departments. In recent years, we have invested over a billion SEK in modernizing and developing our operations – and our journey continues.

Our core values are brave, action-oriented, and genuine. These permeate Stenvalls operations, both in operational and strategic work.

About the Role

As a Forest Management Leader, you will drive and develop the area's forest management issues. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and following up on forest management efforts and work closely with both contractors and internal functions.

The role combines fieldwork, structure, and development and is suitable for you who want to have overall responsibility for forest management – from planning to implementation and follow-up.

You will become part of an engaged team consisting of timber buyers, production managers, and flow managers. Your employment will begin with an individual introduction where you will have good conditions to settle into the role.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for and coordinate forest management measures such as planting, soil preparation, thinning, fertilization, and work with forest management plans
  • Procure and coordinate resources for forest management together with contractors
  • Follow up on quality, costs, lead times, and execution in the field
  • Coordinate internal orders for forest management
  • Work with certification issues towards private landowners
  • Drive development and improvement work within forest management, methods, and technical solutions
  • Work in and contribute to the development of digital systems and monitoring tools (e.g., Fagus/VSOP)

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone with forestry competence, either through forestry education or equivalent work experience. You have a genuine interest in forests and forest management and enjoy working closely with the operations.

As a person, you are:

  • Structured and orderly, yet social and communicative
  • Confident in dialogue with contractors, landowners, and colleagues
  • Initiative-taking and proactive, with a desire to streamline and develop methods
  • Coaching and stable in your approach
  • Curious about digital development and how technology can support forest management work

You have a B driver's license and good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.

We Offer

  • A central role in a stable and long-term family business
  • The opportunity to influence and develop forest management work in practice
  • Close collaboration with competent colleagues and contractors
  • Individual salary setting and competitive terms
  • Company car, wellness allowance, and collective agreement

The location is Boden or Piteå/Lövholmen, with regular travel within the operational area in Norrbotten and parts of northern Västerbotten.

Does this sound like something for you? We look forward to your application.
